About

I’m a New York Times–bestselling ghostwriter who has co-written books that have landed six-figure deals with major houses, and I’ve guided numerous writers through concept development, narrative strategy, and proposal creation. I've also written my own memoir, The Bread and the Knife, and spent fifteen years reviewing books for The New York Times Book Review—work that trained me to listen acutely for voice, structure, and literary intent.

What I value most, though, is the collaborative alchemy that happens when two minds work together on a book. My clients often tell me that our conversations change the way they think, write, and understand their own material. We each bring something essential to the work—and together, we create something neither of us could have made alone.

Dawn Drzal - New York Times–bestselling ghostwriter

As a nonfiction ghostwriter, book doctor, and editorial consultant, my role is part thought-wrangling, part book development, part intuition. I listen for the heartbeat of the material, ask the questions that deepen the work, and help authors articulate what they’ve been trying to express, often for years. Wherever we begin, the work moves toward greater insight, coherence, and emotional resonance.
